-BUYING TICKETS AT KELETI: Before you go stand in line at the international ticket office, check to see if the Wasteels office is open. They are a travel agency that can issue tickets for the normal cost plus a negligible fee. As you enter Keleti, it is on the far right hand side. Often there is no queue here, but it closes earlier than the station ticket office.

Belgrade (Beograd)
by train
Three direct trains per day. The journey takes about 7.5 hours.
Departure times:
10:05 13:00 23:00
The cost of the ticket is about 15 euro, so if you have a Eurail flexi pass, just buy the ticket and save yourself a day.
WITH Eurail pass: ask for a ticket from Zahony to Chop (in Hungarian: Csop) WITHOUT Eurail pass: ask for a ticket from Budapest to Chop (in Hungarian: Csop)
Hungarian border guards will come on at Zahony and do passport control. You will cross the border and get off the train. Ukrainian immigration takes place inside the train station. The ticket office in Chop is open 24 hours. Once you've cleared immigration, exit the station and cross the street. You will find a cash machine to withdrawal grivnas (the local currency). Don't worry, you will have plenty of time to get the cash and buy your ticket before the train leaves!
I recommend buying a ticket in platskart (3rd class). This is the cheapest and safest option for solo and women travelers. In 1st and 2nd class you are locked into a cabin with unknown strangers. Platskart is open and everything is in view.
youth one way (non refundable, non flexi): 5900 - 8900 HUF (~21-31€) adult one way (non refundable, non flexi): 5900 - 15900 (21-56€)
